Daily loop
- Open the coop or confirm the automatic door worked.
- Check water, feed, and basic flock behavior.
- Collect eggs before they sit too long in heat or cold.
- Close and lock the coop at night, or verify the door closed securely.
Routine care
The best routine is quick, repeatable, and easy to notice when something is off. Design the setup so the daily loop takes minutes.
Remove wet or heavily soiled areas and keep nest boxes clean.
Scrub buildup before it turns into a health problem.
Look for digging, loose wire, weak latches, and sharp edges.
Watch for limping, weight loss, mites, dirty vents, or isolation.
Every flock has patterns. Pay attention to who eats first, who hangs back, how full the feed is, and what normal droppings look like. Small changes are easier to catch when you know the baseline.
